Indian Army Leads Massive Flood Relief in Jammu & Pathankot

In the wake of devastating floods that have struck the Jammu and Pathankot regions, the Indian Army has once again risen to the occasion by launching swift and large-scale rescue operations. As the torrential rains continue to disrupt normal life, the Army has deployed 13 flood relief and rescue columns under its Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) mandate.

These columns are working relentlessly in challenging weather conditions, often wading through deep waters to evacuate stranded families, distribute relief materials, and provide medical support to those in need. Their immediate response has ensured that countless lives are being saved in some of the worst-hit villages and urban pockets.

With helicopters on standby for airlifting supplies and boats pressed into service, the Army has taken a multi-pronged approach to minimize loss of life and property. Rescue shelters have been established at higher grounds, where displaced citizens are being provided with food, water, and essential aid.

The Army’s commitment to safeguarding people during natural disasters has once again highlighted its role beyond security duties. At a time when fear and uncertainty loom large, the sight of soldiers braving the floods brings hope and reassurance to thousands.
