India witnessed a powerful wave of collective consciousness on International Yoga Day 2025, uniting citizens across regions, ranks, and terrains—from the beaches of Visakhapatnam to the icy heights of Siachen.

With the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the day focused on the harmony between humans and nature, reinforcing yoga’s role in sustainable living and stress-free living in modern society.

Prime Minister Modi, leading the national celebration at RK Beach, said:

“Yoga is India’s gift to the world. It builds inner peace, which forms the foundation of global harmony.”

Highlights from the National Events:

  • Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium hosted 10,000+ participants, with early morning sessions and free health checkups.

  • In Bhopal and Indore, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and cabinet members conducted sessions with hundreds practicing pranayama techniques like Kapalbhati and Anulom-Vilom.

  • From schools to government offices and temples to stadiums, over 1 lakh venues saw yoga activities, many of which were accessible to the elderly and differently abled.

Military, Navy, and Global Outreach:

  • Indian Navy sailors joined from ships at sea, while armed forces continued their tradition of high-altitude yoga at Siachen and forward posts.

  • Events in Indonesia, Japan, the U.S., and Europe amplified the message that yoga belongs to the world and connects people across borders.

More than just a celebration, Yoga Day 2025 marked a reaffirmation of India’s leadership in global wellness. It showcased how breath, movement, and mindfulness can become a diplomatic bridge, a lifestyle solution, and a symbol of unity in a fragmented world.
