Young Phenom Vaibhav Suryavanshi Earns Praise from Dhoni and Kohli: A Star on the Rise in IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals’ young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has not only been making waves with his explosive performances on the field but is also earning admiration from Indian cricket icons MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. In a recent interaction disclosed by RR’s team manager Romi Bhinder, Vaibhav’s encounters with the two legends of Indian cricket revealed touching moments of encouragement and respect.



Dhoni’s Humble Compliment

It was during a match in Guwahati that Suryavanshi had a memorable meeting with former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni. Known for his composed demeanor and sharp cricketing instincts, Dhoni affectionately referred to the young talent as “the baby” of the team. But his words carried far more weight than just affection.

“You got the baby in your team,” Dhoni remarked to Bhinder. “The baby is showing great shots like a matured player.”

This was more than a compliment—it was a recognition from one of the greatest finishers the game has seen. Bhinder noted that Dhoni was clearly impressed by Suryavanshi’s composure and shot selection, even comparing his calmness at the crease with his own.

Kohli’s Advice: Stay Grounded

Suryavanshi also had the chance to meet his idol, Virat Kohli, during Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Despite his fierce competitiveness on the field, Kohli is known to be generous with his time for young players.

During their brief interaction, Kohli reportedly encouraged Vaibhav to remain humble, no matter the heights of success. He emphasized the importance of discipline, work ethic, and consistency—virtues that have defined Kohli’s own career.

“He told him to stay grounded and keep working hard,” Bhinder shared. “That advice stuck with Vaibhav. Coming from someone like Virat, it means a lot.”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already given glimpses of his potential this season. His 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans stunned both fans and cricket pundits, marking him as one of the brightest emerging stars in the IPL.

A natural stroke-maker with the calmness of a seasoned player, Vaibhav’s style has drawn comparisons to some of the best in the game, but his humility remains intact—something both Dhoni and Kohli seemed to admire deeply.
